LAZARIUS: Lazarius is much like Arthurian England, a romanticized form of feudalism where brave knights and damsels in distress are a constant. It is also the most traditional setting in Isimiir for the Middle Ages. The worship of Whelm is absolute and the laws of chivalry are exemplary. Law rules the land stamping out the vestiges of evil where chaos may spring up.
The land is ruled by Queen Aeceia I, the first recognized true heir to the Lazarian Throne in two centuries. Although only twenty, she has already survived a coup and is stewarding her country though turbulent times. already she is facing a revolt from her Mage's Tower and an attack by the forces of the god UnDeath on her doorstep.
Until recently the country was sheparded by the invaluable advice of Grand Vizier Elhuid but he has recently and mysteriously disappeared.
The Church is very powerful in Lazarius and they are the last country to truly worship the Isimiirian Church and it's powerful gods. They have priests, paladins, and warriors dedicated to the churches survival and their temples are like battle fortresses.
The Queen's Inquisitioners ruthlessly hunt down rogue and apostate mages.
The Mage Tower was once the center of learning for all Lazarians gifted in magic but since the revolt, no one knows what the status of the spellcasters in Lazarius is going to be in the future.
The army of Lazarius is strong and battle-tested as they constantly watch the borders of their land-locked country. Every man and woman of age (18) is required to serve the armed forces for two years and then keep weapons, armor, and equipment ready for any upcoming campaign. In this way, the Lazarians have made every man and woman a soldier and many children are trained by their parents long before they come of age.
The Lazarians are considered the last remnant of the old Isimiirian culture and many of their traditions date back to the Old Elven Empire.
