KINZOKU METAL CLAN:

The Kinzoku Elemental clan has mastery over metal which is one of the subclans of Earth and Fire clans. The metal clan is known as one of the strongest, yet most flexible clans. They are stalwart fighters, unflinching allies, and unstoppable enemies.


Metal clan members have skin the coloration of their patron metal (Silver, Copper, Gold, Iron,and Platinum being the most common). Their eyes favor metallic colors like bronze, gold and copper but blues, greens, and reds are not uncommon. They often have athletic builds. They are difficult to anger but also have long memories often keeping grudges. They enjoy completing tasks and meticulous attention to detail and make great warriors.


SAMPLE DESCRIPTION: The lady before you is a Kai Lin of the Metal Clan. She is humanoid in shape but has bronze skin. She looks alien in an Asian way. She has shimmering green eyes. Her eyes glow in the dark. She is wearing a simple red gi. Her hair is black with a bronze stripe. She is both exotic and beautiful with a powerful, solid-looking body and delicate, nimble fingers. Her skin is cool to the touch. She looks as if she is made of living metal


STATS: +2 CON, -2 DEX (Powerful and enduring but somewhat inflexible).

ABILITIES:

SIZE (Medium): As Medium creatures, Kai Lin have no special bonuses or penalties due to their size.

MOVEMENT: Metal Kai Lin base land speed is 30 feet.

ELEMENTAL SUBTYPE (Metal):  They also qualify as Metal creatures when exposed to magic and abilities.

METAL POWERS: As a racial ability, they gain access to the Metal Racial Powers as they grow in level as a Sorcerer of equal level. This extremely powerful and useful ability is native to all Metal Kai Lin regardless of Character Class. This includes the granted powers.

AUTOMATIC LANGUAGES: Kajimaran and Bandglan. Bonus Languages: Common, Auquan, Auran, Ignan, and Terran.

FAVORED CLASS: Bushi. A multiclass Metal Kai Lin Wu Jen class does not count when determining whether he takes an experience point penalty for multiclassing.


METAL POWERS (Available to all Metal Kai Lin):
Granted Powers: Any metal weapons you wield are treated as any other kind of metal you wish for the purposes of overcoming damage reduction; they are also treated as magical for the purposes of overcoming DR and attacking incorporeal creatures.

METAL SPELLS (Gained like Domain Spells):
1ST LEVEL: Magic Weapon: Weapon gains +1 bonus.
2ND LEVEL: Heat/ Chill Metal: Make metal so hot /cold it damages those who touch it.
3RD LEVEL: Keen Edge: Doubles normal weapon's threat range.
4TH LEVEL: Rusting Grasp: Your touch corrodes iron and alloys.
5TH LEVEL: (Metalskin): Stoneskin except that the skin color is metallic.
6TH LEVEL: Blade Barrier: Wall of blades deals 1d6/level damage.
7TH LEVEL: Transmute Metal to Wood: Metal within 40 ft. becomes wood.
8TH LEVEL: Iron Body: Your body becomes living iron.
9TH LEVEL: Repel Metal or Stone: Pushes away metal and stone.

CLAN WEAPON PROFICIENCY: All clan members are proficient in the use of the 1 metal weapon. 

CLAN DISPOSITION (how they treat other clans): Lawful Neutral (Metal Clans honor bargains despite the toll. They never break a deal no matter how painful. However, they rarely make deals with other clans.)

INTERNAL POLITICS (How they treat themselves): Lawful Good (The Metal Clan treats other member well. They try to work in the best interest of the clan.)

CLAN WEAPONS, ARMORS, AND ITEMS:
FIRESTAR SHURIKEN: These Masterwork shuriken are forged by Kai Lin smiths in the forge of the Harigatsu Volcano where they are enchanted to hold flames when thrown. They come in packs of nine and do additional flame damage when thrown. The flames fizzle the round they strike an object. The shuriken are destroyed after their use but have a 50% recovery rate if the target is missed. Essentially, they have a +1 to Hit and do 1d2 +1d4 fire damage per shuriken. They cost a Fire Kai Lin 70 gp for 9 shuriken. They are often double the price for any non Yorimoto Kai Lin (140) and triple (210) for any other race.

FIRESTAR BRACERS: These Masterwork bracers absorb fire damage imparting a natural damage reduction to flame and heat, staying cool. This is another creation from the Harigatsu Forges. The bones that create the bracers are from Lava monsters that died long ago in the mountain. Cost 370, Armor Bonus: +1, Max Dex Bonus: -, Armor Check Penalty: 0, Arcane Spell Failure: 5%, Speed: ---, Weight: 3 lbs. DR: 3 versus Nonmagical Fire damage.

FIRESTAR AMULET: This appears to be a piece of red bone carved into a pretty design dangling from a red bone chain. In addition to this mundane task, it can absorb Fire and Heat of the sort generated by spell or spell-like ability. A Firestar Amulet can absorb up to 50 points of damage from Fire and Heat before it melts and becomes useless.

ANCESTRAL YORIMOTO FEATS:
HANDS OF FLAME: (Su) One time a day, the Kai Lin can cast the spell Burning Hands as an Arcane Caster of Equal Level.

ONEWITH FLAME: (Su) The Kai Lin can activate innate Resist Elements (Fire and Heat only) reducing damage by 10, one time a day. The ability lasts CON +3 rounds.

FLICKER: (Su) A Flame Kai Lin gains the ability to warp his own form by bending the light around his form. The way his form flickers looks like a candle flame in the wind. He can Flicker for CON +1 number of rounds. This distortion grants the subject concealment (20% miss chance). 
A see invisibility spell does not counteract the flicker effect, but a true seeing spell does. 
Opponents that cannot see the subject ignore the spell’s effect (though fighting an unseen opponent carries penalties of its own). This can be done once a day.

FLAME AURA: (Su) Once a day, the Fire Kai Lin can coat his body in flames that make those grappling and making unarmed attacks against him take 1d4 magical fire damage. The ability lasts CON + 2 Rounds. The ability does no damage to the Kai Lin or any of his items. The flames cannot cause other items to burn. 

FLAME SHEATHE: (Su) The Kai Lin can magically cause any one weapon he is holding to spontaneously burst into flame. The item held is not harmed, but those touching the object take 1d6 normal flame damage and Flame Kai Lin often use this on weapons to create extra damage. This feat cannot be taken multiple times, the flames created by the Kai Lin stack with other powers that may be in the weapon. The flames last CON +1 Rounds and can be activated one time a day.

 


FIRE (Yorimoto): Fire Samurai will be powerful and red colored with yellow ripples. They are prone to rages and attack with little mercy. They have a large amount of Sorcerers and Barbarians in their clan. Their Shugenja learn Fire Magic and their Wu Jen cast Fire Spells as well. Their Castles and Monasteries are based around Volcanoes. They Gain Weapon Focus: Naginata for the women and Bisento for Males..
